When I got pregnant, I wanted to capture this moment. So I started looking for a maternity photographer in Amsterdam. What I found was a disappointment: unflattering poses, forced smiles, average editing, and an overall feeling of awkwardness. Every portfolio looked the same. Generic.
I did not recognize myself. I didn't want to pretend. I didn't want to regret. I wanted something natural, warm, and effortless, but without sacrificing taste or quality. That maternity photoshoot didn't exist yet.
I asked myself — could I create a photoshoot that could bring more women like me that feeling of contentment? What else could I add to elevate this experience, to make it feel natural, warm, and genuinely beautiful?
For me, The French Bump is an extension of motherhood — and of how I see the world.
I am Elisa, French photographer, artist, and mother. Trained in Paris, based in Amsterdam. French and English speaking, so you never have to search for your words.
